Located in Big Bang Bicycles, Human Vortex Training offers one of Pittsburgh's first training studios dedicated solely to cyclists, triathletes, duathletes, and endurance athletes. Human Vortex Training offers on-bike and off-bike training, featuring cutting edge training techniques used at the professional and collegiate levels.

Human Vortex Training is founded on the principles that everything about the athlete; their lifestyle, their personality, and their life beyond their sport, are all to be taken into considerations when training for personal zeniths. As far as we are concerned, there are no "cookie-cutter" programs, period. Each athlete has different needs, a different set of skills, and those should be addressed by workouts tailored to that individual. After all, you don't see Lance Armstrong doing the EXACT same workouts as, say George Hincapie, do you? What about Craig Alexander doing the EXACT same workouts as Norman Stadler? Sure, their workouts may be similar, but each athlete is constructed differently than the other. And these subtle differences can make the greatest of differences in training.

Many people train hard, but does that necessarily mean they are achieving the highest results that they can?  Research has proven that this approach may get you somewhere, but it will not reflect your true capabilities, or your true peak fitness. Even if getting on your bike and "just riding", such as Greg Lemond did, does get you to your "peak" fitness, why not do so using a more focused approach, using less time, and less energy?

What many athletes fail to realize, is that they are not getting stronger when they are out practicing their sport, or lifting weights. Rather, the human body gets stronger in the time AWAY from the sport, when it has time to adapt to the demands that were placed on it during training. For many athletes, it's not the inability to push their body hard that keeps them from achieving their peak performance. It's their inability to properly balance training with the right amount of rest, recovery, and nutrition.
